Shaving soap is a different kind of animal. You want the sum of stearic and palmitic acids to be equal or greater than 50. The reason I recommend this level is because that is the sum of stearic and palmitic acids in pure beef tallow. Many of the old traditional shaving soaps were simply made of tallow and a combination of NaOH and KOH. I shared this formula in the Facebook Groups Tallow Soapers and The Original Shaving Soap Makers. tygerheart.com
