frosted fir Bar - 002

Solid Soap · NaOH · 34 g oil load · 5% superfat · 3 views · 0 saves

Used heat of lye/water mix to melt the coconut oil. Mix lye and water until lye is dissovled. also got lye from the williams hardware store as opposed to the bramble berry brand. does not dissolve as readily. Green mica mixed with 1.5oz of olive oil reserved from recipe and swirled into the soap. poured 50% of batter into mold, drizzed in half the mica/oil mix, topped with second half of soap batter and swirled. In future batches,I think it would be better to create channels the soap batter was too thick and the oil dripped to the sides of the soap and didn't saponify correctly and just made the bar feel greasy.
