Milk Soap with Honey and oats II

Solid Soap · NaOH · 600 g oil load · 5% superfat · 4 views · 0 saves

This recipie was found on the website Oh the Things we will make: https://thethingswellmake.com/goat-milk-soap-with-honey/ Directions form the website include the following details: Lye used 84.96 - suitable for about 5% superfat liquid total was 185g: 90g water, 95 g Goats Mild. The milk was frozen first and the lye was disolved in a 50% water solution (it's total weight pluse a little extra).......thus disolving the lye in water first and hopefully cooling it a bit so that it won't burn the milk. Oils were kept cool. Coconut oil is melted first and all other oils are not warmed after adding. Coming to trace can take time. Make sure your mixture is blended thuroughly and no bubbles are present. Honey and oats are added at trace. Once poured in the mold it is recommened that it is put in the freezer or fridge if it's warm outside. Otherwise leave it uncovered to cool at room temperature. The goal is to avoid a gel phase. Note: any kind of milk can be used.....However goats milk is preferred. Molasses can also be used instead of honey. I might try this recipe with tallow added it to it as well.
