Read up on Lye safety as it's highly caustic and will cause chemical burns (gloves, goggle, long sleeves etc) Always add lye to water…NEVER add water to lye as the reaction will bubble and can splash. Open window to mix and keep lye solution somewhere it can't be knocked while it cools to around 40 degrees c. Make sure lye is mixed in 5pp plastic only. Others can melt, glass can shatter. Use silicone spatulas to mix. Heat solid oils on hob gently then take off the heat and add liquid oils. Cool to about 40 degrees c too. Add your lye solution and blend with a stick blender until you get to trace. Look up demo video from “i dream in soap” to learn about trace on youtube. Don't blend too much or it will thicken too much and be hard to pour in to your mould. I mix my clays with my essential oils and use a coffee frother to blend, then add at trace. This should be a gentle recipe with a creamy lather with some bubbles. I've just made this up though based on my knowledge so you will have to try it out! Good luck!
