NOTE: My recipe in book calls for slightly more distilled water, at 12.15 oz. Optional Additives after cook: Glycerin 3.2 oz Fragrance 1.3 oz DIRECTIONS / STEPS: Melt oils & fats in crock pot, temperature should be between 160 and 170 degrees. Pour Lye Water into warm oils and blend – will THICKEN QUICKLY! (mashed potatoes) Keep crock pot on LOW with TOP ON, let rest for 15-20 min. Stir mixture by hand. REPEAT steps 3 & 4 a few times, keeping an eye on mixture to make sure it doesn't volcano and grow out of the pot. Don't let temp go over 200 degrees! Once soap is finished cooking (usually takes around an hour) stir in ADDITIVES like glycerin, fragrance, etc. Stir carefully. Scoop soap into containers or mold. Use funnels potentially, and carefully tap containers to get soap to settle down in. DO NOT COVER until soap has cooled!
