SO MATCHA
Solid Soap · NaOH · 940 g oil load · 5% superfat · 3 views · 0 saves
Before beginning, brew 4.38 oz. of green tea and pour into an ice cube tray or a soap mold with small individual cavities and place in freezer. Allow to freeze completely. Prepare the lye solution by placing the frozen green tea in the plastic pitcher and weighing the lye in a separate container. Very slowly pour the lye into the tea to prevent scorching, carefully mix in a well-ventilated area and set aside to cool while you prepare your oils. Measure the oils and butters in the glass mixing bowl and melt in the microwave. Set aside. In one plastic beaker measure out sodium lactate and set aside. In second plastic beaker measure out fragrance oil, matcha and sea clay and blend together. When the tea and lye mixture is around 100° F, stir in the Sodium Lactate. When both the lye mixture and the oils are below 100° F you can begin mixing. Add the lye mixture to the oil/butter mixture and stick blend until you reach a light trace. Mix in the fragrance/clay mixture and stick blend in short bursts until it is fully mixed. Pour the soap batter into the mold and tap the mold on the counter to release any air bubbles. Allow to set at least 24 hours or longer until soap is firm enough to unmold and cut. If you have trouble removing soap from the mold, place in the freezer for about 15 minutes and then remove. FACE MOLDS, 3 COLORS.
